Setting Up Seasonal Pricing & Group Rates

How to configure different prices for peak and low seasons, and tiered pricing for group sizes.

On this page (7 sections)

Why Seasonal Pricing Matters

Safari pricing varies significantly between seasons. Setting up seasonal pricing lets travelers see accurate costs for their travel dates and helps you maximize revenue during peak periods.

Group Size Pricing Tiers

Explola supports per-person pricing based on group size. When editing a tour, you can set different prices for:

  • Solo traveler — Price per person when traveling alone
  • 2 people — Price per person for a pair
  • 3-4 people — Price per person for small groups
  • 5+ people — Price per person for larger groups

This lets you reflect the actual economics — solo travelers pay more per person because fixed costs (vehicle, guide) are not shared.

Setting Up Seasonal Pricing

  1. Open the tour editor and go to the Pricing section
  2. Set your base per-person prices for each group size tier
  3. Add seasonal variations with start and end dates
  4. Enter the adjusted price for each season

Common Seasons for African Safaris

  • Peak season (June–October) — Dry season, best wildlife viewing, highest prices
  • Shoulder season (November, March–May) — Good value with decent wildlife viewing
  • Green/Low season (December–February) — Lush landscapes, fewer tourists, lower prices

Best Time to Visit

You can also specify the recommended travel months for your tour using the "Best Time to Visit" field. This helps travelers plan and improves your tour's visibility in filtered searches.

Currency

All prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD) on the platform. Enter your prices in USD for consistency.

Pricing Tips

  • Research competitor pricing to stay competitive
  • Clearly list what is included in the price (see the inclusions article)
  • Update seasonal pricing annually to reflect current market rates
  • Offer solo traveler rates — many safari seekers travel alone
